Chelsea Chaves

Soprano Chelsea Chaves is celebrated for her rich expressiveness and vibrant connection with audiences. Since earning her Master’s degree from the USC Thornton School of Music, she has appeared in an array of opera productions and concerts with organizations including the Astoria Music Festival, Musiktheater Bavaria, Opera Santa Barbara, OperaWorks, the Grammy Award–winning Pacific Chorale, Pacific Symphony, Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble, Songfest, Long Beach Opera and more. Among her favorite roles are Hanna Glawari in Lehár’s Die Lustige Witwe and Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. A passionate advocate for introducing classical music to younger audiences, Chelsea frequently performs with Pacific Symphony’s educational outreach program (Class Act) and serves as Education Manager for Long Beach Opera. Her accolades include the prestigious Profant Foundation vocal award in 2018 and being named a finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Competition in 2015. She has also had the honor of singing the National Anthem at two Los Angeles Lakers games. Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Chapman University.
